Pixor for Unity

Two ways in, both with the pivot where your character stands.

With the Aseprite Importer (recommended)

Install Unity’s 2D Aseprite Importer package and drop Pixor’s name.aseprite into Assets. Each tag, one per action and side, becomes an animation clip. Use the final layer.

With the PNG and JSON

  1. Import name.png as a Sprite (Multiple), Filter Mode Point, Compression None.
  2. Slice it by cell size: the cell size is in name.json under meta.pixor.cell.
  3. Set the pivot from meta.pixor.pivot, in pixels from the cell’s top-left.

More for Unity

  • Normal, depth and emission maps for 2D lights, and a lighting kit that keeps lit sprites on their palette.
  • Hitboxes, hurtboxes and bone sockets per frame in the JSON.

Pixor makes sprites. If you want a 3D scene pixelated live inside Unity instead, a real-time pixelation shader is the tool for that.
