Requirements
Pixor 2.0 runs on Windows and Linux. It works with any graphics card that has Vulkan or DirectX 12, and with a software driver without one.
Will it run on this computer?
This looks at what your browser can tell about this computer. Nothing is sent anywhere.
The desktop app
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| System | Windows 10, 64-bit; Linux, 64-bit (x86-64) | Windows 11; a current Linux |
| Processor | Any 64-bit processor with 2 cores | 4 cores or more: big sheets and batches render on every core |
| Graphics | Vulkan or DirectX 12. Without a graphics card, a software driver opens the window (Windows’ own; Mesa’s software Vulkan, lavapipe, on Linux) and Pixor’s CPU renderer draws the same pixels, more slowly | Any graphics card with Vulkan or DirectX 12, built-in ones included |
| Memory | 4 GB | 8 GB |
| Disk | 100 MB for the app | 1 GB or more, for your projects and exports |
| Screen | 1280×720 | 1920×1080 or more |
| Internet | Never needed. Pixor makes no network request at all. | |
On Windows: Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” the first time, because Pixor isn’t code-signed yet: click More info, then Run anyway.
macOS is planned for early 2027, as a free update. Pixor keeps any single sheet under 2 GB of memory, and its tests run under that limit.
The browser demo
A desktop browser with WebGPU or WebGL2: current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The first visit downloads about 6 MB (13 MB unpacked); after that it opens from the browser’s cache, and it can be installed to work offline. It is made for a computer with a mouse, not a phone.
