Noise
A node of the Action graph, in the Generators group.
A channel that jumps about, smoothly or not: a flame's light, a nervous twitch.
Takes: channel (text), amplitude (channels), rate (channels), seed (channels), smooth (on-off) · Gives: channels
Settings
| Setting | What it does | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channel | Which number it makes: a place, a turn, a size, a light's strength... | X, Y, Z, Turn x, Turn y, Turn z, Size x, Size y, Size z, Part set, Intensity, Glow, Ramp shift, Frame, Weight, Colour cycle | intensity |
| Amplitude | How far it jumps, each way. | 0 to 100000 | 0.3 |
Jumps a secondrate | How often it reaches a new value. | 0.10000000149011612 to 120 | 12 |
| Seed | Another seed jumps another way. | 0 to 1000000 | 1 |
| Smooth | Glides from one value to the next rather than jumping. | on or off | false |
Every setting is also an input: wire a value into it to change it over time. On the command line: pxr graph set game.pixor --which action --node noise --set KEY=VALUE.
What it wires to
Its channel input takes a text, which these give: Words.
What it gives, channels, goes into: Apply to, Instances, Output, Blend, Lag, Limit, Maths, Merge, Rename, Repeat, Reverse, Select, and 27 more.
In the app, drag a wire from one of its dots: every dot the wire fits is ringed.
How it fits with the rest: the Action graph in the manual.
